- Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by PTO Board President, Tracy Boehm.
Welcome and Introductions were made.
- Motion to approve the minutes, taken by Laura Hjelseth from the last PTO Meeting, on April 5th, 2016, was made by Jolien and 2nd by Jon.
- Treasurer’s report was made by Julie Koppelman. An overview of monthly income and expenses was made with a monthly ending checkbook balance of $18,139.38 as of 05/03/2016. It was also discussed to donate/add into the budget $500 to Brooks Harbor this year to aide in the startup funds of their new PTO this next coming Fall. Will also add another $500 next year to assist them. Motion made by Julie and 2nd by Jolien; all in favor and motion passed. Motion to accept the treasurer’s report was made by Jon and 2nd by LaVon. A motion was made by Gina and 2nd by Tawyna to carry over an ending balance of $3,500 for next PTO School year. Motion carried and passes.
- President’s Report - was given by Tracy Boehm.
-Drama Club/School Play recap was made. Mrs. Odegaard was director, and it was a big success. An additional $323 was added into the donation bucket the evening of the school play. The drama club is to have an Oscar Night on Friday, May 6th, for awards/trophies and treats. Drama Club out of pocket expenses totaled $635.
- The school Principal’s Report was made by Lynn Bormann.
~Thank You to Stephanie Dosmann for coordinating our Aurora Elementary Yearbook this year. Thank you to the PTO/Gina for coordinating Staff Appreciation week activities and the generous gift cards. Thank you t the PTO for a great 1st year of working with the members in my role as principal.
~PTO Sponsored Field Trips:
Grade 1 – Chahinkapa Zoo (May 19)
Grade 2 – TNT Fitness Center (May 25)
Grade 3 – MSUM Science Center (May 23 & 24)
Grade 4 – Bismarck Field Trip (May 25)
~Staffing Update for next year:
-There will be a part-time Elementary Dean of Students that will be shared with Freedom Elementary. That person will be James Moe.
-Currently have 23 classroom teachers; next year are planning for either 23 or 24 at this point. Will know after Registration in August.
~Aurora will be Summer School Host for the Month of June 6-30, Monday thru Thursday. Summer Reading Program will be from 8:00-11:45 am. A motion was made to have a Summer School Teachers Treat Day on June 16th, for up to 14 teachers, with a cost up to $50 to be spent on treats. Motion made by LaVon and 2nd by Gina. Motion carried and passed.
~Upcoming Events:
Friday 5/6 – Grade 1 Music Program, 8:30 am.
Friday 5/6 – School Play Oscar Night, 6:30 pm.
Thurs. 5/26 – Last Day of School: Talent Show, Inflatables
2016-2017 Back to School Night is scheduled for Thursday August 18th, 4:30-6:00 pm.
Tues. 8/23 – 1st Day Back to School.
- Committee Reports were made –
~The Box Tops Committee – made byTracy for Amber & Mandy. Box Tops final submissions will be in mid-May. Campbells Teacher wish lists for ordering toward catalog by mid-May.
~Yearbook – by Tracy for Michelle. Yearbooks ordered and printing done by May 25. Will be given out last day of school.
~Teacher Appreciaton Week – Recap by Gina, going on all this week!
~End of Year Inflatables – by Tracy for Michelle. Sign up for working shifts will be put on-line for all to volunteer and sign up for 1-hour shifts.
~School Supplies – Tawnya. Online school supply lists for the 2016-2017 school year are currently available for ordering. Online ordering will be May 1st through May 31st. Pickup will be on Registration Day in August. As of today’s meeting date, 20 orders have been placed.
- Old Business:
~Election for Officers for 2016-2017: Gina Dahl has already been voted in as the new President Elect for next year. Julie Koppelman has been voted in again as the Treasurer for next year. Jolien Schwan has been voted in as Communications Director for next year. Andrea Metcalf has been voted in for Secretary for next year. A motion was made by Tawyna and 2nd by Jon to elect all the above mentioned people for the above mentioned positions. Motion carried and passed by all in attendance. The only officer position yet to be filled is the Vice-President Elect.
~Volunteers for Open Committee Chair Positions for 2016-2017 school year. Great American Fundraiser will be chaired by Robin Berg. Still need a Co-chair. Book Fair will be chaired by Robin Berg with Matt as Co-Chair. Flu Shot Clinic will be chaired Alison Fuchs. Still need a Co-Chair. Teacher Appreciation Week will be chaired by Laura Hjelseth. American Education Week will be chaired by Andrea Metcalf. School Supplies will be chaired by Tawyna. Still needs a Co-Chair. Movie Night will be chaired by Michelle. Need a Co-Chair. School Dance will be Co-Chaired by both Robin & Matt with Mrs. Saxlund helping out. End of the Year Inflatables will be chaired by Michelle. Yearbook will be chaired by Michelle with the need of another main Co-Chair. Mrs. Puetz (Art Teacher) might be able to help along with 5th grade as helpers. Drama Club will be Chaired by Tracy. Fall Parents Night will be chaired by Matt Skadberg.
Open Committees yet to be filled with a Chair Person include the Spirit Wear/Clothing, the Blood Drive, Conference Meals, Box Tops & Labels, and Drama Club. Mrs. Thorstad has volunteered as a Parent for the After School Clubs. A Vendor Night Event has also been discussed if anyone is interested in chairing. Please contact Tracy if interested in any of the open Chair or Co-Chair positions mentioned above.

~A motion was made by Robin and 2nd by Michelle to increase the Playground Budget by $25 for boxes of sidewalk chalk to be purchased at Dollar Store. Motion Carried and Passed.

- Treasurer’s report was made by Julie Koppelman. An overview of monthly income and expenses was made with a monthly ending checkbook balance of $16,279.39 as of 04/05/2016. Motion to accept the treasurer’s report was made by Matt and 2nd by LaVon.
- President’s Report - was given by Tracy Boehm.
-The Drama Club has made $1,170 from 39 kid registrations @$30/each. Abby, a 1st grade teacher, is going to be the Drama Teacher for the play this year. - The school Principal’s Report was made by Lynn Bormann.
~Thank You to the 1st Grade Teachers in attendance tonight. Thank you to the parents who donated food for the Teacher’s Conference Meals, and to those who helped out with the Book Fair. Thank you also for the continued support with the Fro-Yo sales.
~March Parent-Teacher Conference attendance was 96%.
~March is “Music in our Schools” month. Thanks to our music teachers (Ms. Ray & Ms. Bitzegaio) for coordinating a weekly trivia question and a chance for students to win a musical instrument. Also, check out the display by the music room showing how music has played a part in the lives of Aurora staff members.
~The after school classes and full and running well!
~ Mrs. Ray is going to have her own Talent Day during her music classes and judge if the students' talent could also qualify for the school talent show. So, we do not need parent volunteers to be judges for the talent show. - Committee Reports were made –
~The Box Tops Committee – made by Amber & Mandy. Final submission in will be in May. Also if anyone has Cashwise Food Club receipts, please send to school for collection.
~Yearbook - Michelle. The yearbook order envelopes have been sent home with students. Fee per yearbook is $15. Need a separate envelope filled out per child. Hard deadline for turning in the forms will be April 20th.
~Teacher Appreciation Week - Gina. Gina has come with a Theme Week to celebrate the teachers and staff (See the weekly newsletter for more information for each day’s event). Gift cards and treats will also be given out to the teachers and staff. A motion was made to increase the total budget for Teacher Appreciation week to $1,800 to accommodate $25 gift cards for the certified staff and $10 gift cards to the other staff. Motion made by Michelle and 2nd by Tawnya. Motion carried and passed.
~Spring Book Fair - Laura. A recap of the Book Fair showed that our total gross sales for the 3 night event was $7,065.64. Thank you to all who volunteered to help make it another success.
~School Supplies – Tawnya. Online school supply lists price will range from $32-$38 for the 2016-2017 school year. Online ordering will be May 1st through May 31st. Pickup will be on Registration Day in August. - New Business:
~Nominations for PTO Officers for 2016-2017 school year. Gina was this years Vice-President Elect, and therefore will be the new President for the next school year. Julie Koppelman will remain the Treasurer. Open seats yet to be filled include the Secretary, Communications Director and the Vice-President Elect.
~Volunteers for Open Committee Chair Positions for 2016-2017 school year.

- Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by PTO Board President, Tracy Boehm.
Welcome and Introductions were made. - Motion to approve the minutes, taken by Laura Hjelseth from the last PTO Meeting, on February 2, 2016, was made by Matt and 2nd by Jolien.
- Treasurer’s report was made by Julie Koppelman. An overview of monthly income and expenses was made, and a review of some of the budget items for 2015-2016 was discussed. Monthly ending checkbook balance of $15,728.65 as of 02/26/2016. Motion to accept the treasurer’s report was made by Gina and 2nd by Matt.
- President’s Report - was given by Tracy Boehm.
-The new 2016-2017 WFPS Elementary School Calendar was handed out to all members in attendance.
- Spring School Clubs – Spring Art Club is filled; Robotics Club is filled; Coding Club is filled; and there is still openings in the Game/Card Club. Registration Forms for Clubs are available in the office. Discussion was made regarding increasing Teacher Club Pay to $30 ($10/1-hr. prep time & $20 fee). The PTO currently has excess funds in the Club budget. The total amount of increase would be $280 beyond what was originally allotted. A motion to increase the pay was made by Jolien and 2nd by Andrea. All in favor; motion passed. - The school Principal’s Report was made by Lynn Bormann.
~Thank You to Teachers in attendance tonight, along with Jon Erickson, our school board liaison.
~Kindness Week was just completed at school from Feb.22-26. Each day there was a different theme, with fun activities that promoted kindness, as well as some special dress-up days. Thanks to Nikki Anderson, School Counselor, for coordinating this.
~Book Fair will be set up this week with a Special Family Event Night on Thursday March 10, and during Parent/Teacher Conferences on March 14 & 15.
~Thank you for the generosity of the PTO for sponsoring a $5 book fair coupon per grade. This will be a wonderful way to extend the value of reading, as we also just finished I Love To Read Month. List of winners in the school newsletter.
~Battle of the Boks Competitions for 3rd grade begins on March 2.
~District Update – Parents are invited to complete a survey for accreditation and to help our district improve its practice. Information/Link was already sent home, but we also have computers available during parent/teacher conferences for anyone wishing to complete it. - Committee Reports were made –
~The Box Tops Committee – made by Jolien on behalf of Amber & Mandy. Recent Box tops challenge has ended with Mrs. Fode’s Class the winner of the challenge. 7,062 total box tops were collected.
~Movie Night – Gina – Recap. Movie night was a big success and the 5th graders were a huge help with the event.
~Fundraiser – Julie. Next year’s school fundraiser was discussed. A motion to use Great American as our fundraiser option next year was made by Gina and 2nd by Matt. Motion carried and passed. A group will get together to discuss which Great American catalog options will be made available to purchase for the fundraiser. A 2nd option for a next year fundraiser was also discussed. The Blue Books coupon books were discussed as an additional fundraiser option.
~Spring Book Fair - Laura. An additional Special Family Book Fair Event night will be held Thursday March 10th from after school to 7:00 pm. This is in addition to the Book Fair Nights that will be held on March 14th & 15th during parent/teacher conferences. Cookies and juice will be provided at the Special Family Event, along with a contest to win a raffle basket of book. The cases and boxes for the book fair will be arriving on Thursday, March 3rd, and will be set up after school that same day. A sign up link will be sent out within the next few weeks looking for parent volunteers to help set up, and to also sign up for helping during the actual Book Fair Events, and helping to tear down the event the evening of the last day of the book fair.
~Conference meals – Tracy. A sign up link will be going out in the upcoming weeks to help with the pot luck items (soups and desserts each day) for the teacher conference meals on the 14th & 15th of March. Monday will feature a Salad Bar with Soups and desserts, and Tuesday will feature a Sandwich Bar with Soups and desserts. - Announcements:

~Lunch with a Cop @ Aurora – March 4th.

- Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by PTO Board President, Tracy Boehm.
Welcome and Introductions were made. - Motion to approve the minutes, taken by Laura Hjelseth from the last PTO Meeting, on January 5, 2016, was made by Bethany and 2nd by Andrea.
- Treasurer’s report was made by Tracy for Julie Koppelman. An overview of monthly income and expenses was made, and a review of the proposed budget for 2015-2016 was discussed. Monthly ending checkbook balance of $16,707.26. Motion to accept the treasurer’s report was made by Gina and 2nd by Andrea.
- President’s Report - was given by Tracy Boehm.
-Play Update – Drama Club to be formed for 3-5 graders with a fee of $30. Anyone who joins the club will get a part in the play. Auditions will be March 21-22. School Play will be on April 29 @ 7:00 pm and during the school day. The High School is lending Aurora a portable sound system for the Play for little to no cost. The school district is working on purchasing a portable sound system for next year that can be used by all schools, so Aurora will not have to purchase its own system, saving us the cost.
- Battle of the Books – Mrs. Bjornson reports that there will be 47 student participants. Event will be held on March 30th. Mrs. B. asked for an increase in costs for the event be raised from $350 to $500 to cover expenses. A motion was made by Andrea to approve and 2nd by Robin. All in attendance approved.
- Spring Dance Update – Discussion was made to table the event until next School Year, in order to ensure enough volunteer participation and to give enough time to work out the details.
- School Clubs – Upcoming clubs include the Drama Club for 3-5 grades, Spring Art Club open to all students, Card Club by Mrs. Berger, and Robotics Club for 5th graders only. Registration for Clubs will begin the last week of February. - The school Principal’s Report was made by Lynn Bormann.
~Thank You to the 5th Grade Teachers in attendance tonight. Thank you to the Box Tops Program which has generated a good amount of income this year. Thank you to the PTO for funding the Milk for Students this year which is greatly appreciated and needed. Thank you to the PTO for the on-going 5th grade Fro-Yo fund raising. Thank you to the PTO for hosting the upcoming Family Movie Night and concessions, with 5th grade helpers.
~Principal will be visiting classrooms to read aloud to students in honor of “I Love to Read Month” in February.
~District Update – Supt. Flowers is looking for parents to serve on the District Strategic Planning Committee. If Interested, let Mrs. Bormann know. - Committee Reports were made –
~The Box Tops Committee – made by Tracy for Amber & Mandy. Box tops challenge has begun and will end February 24th. Please Bundle the Labels in groups of 25-50 or use the label sheets that are in the school newsletter. Do not include any expired labels.
~Fundraisers – Robin. Maddio’s Restaurant event raised $275.91, with an additional $5 tip. 5th graders were a huge help at the event. The Spring Vendor Fundraiser Show has been Tabled until next Fall.
~Movie Night – made by Gina for Michelle. Will be Friday, February 5th @ 7:00pm. Movie will be the Minions. License was ordered for $172. Concessions purchased through Costco. 5th graders will be helping with the Event. Any left over open boxes of concessions can be purchase by parents or will be used for the next Teacher Event as treats in the Teacher Lounge.

~ The Cost for the 5th grade Ski Trip breaks down as follows: 67 students, 3 teachers and 2 paras for a total of 72 persons at a cost of $21 each (for ski rental & lift ticket) = $1,512. There is also the cost of meals of $5 each for the 72 persons = $360. Two Buses through Valley Buses at a cost of $200 each = $400. Grand Total of $2,272. So far the 5th graders have raised a total of $2,140.48, towards their trip, along with some additional monies that have yet to be deposited. There was a motion made to cover the differences in expenses between the total costs and the total earned thus far, along with covering the cost of 9-chaperones x $26 each which would total an additional $234. Motion made by Andrea and 2nd by Bethany. Motioned carried and passed.
~The 5th grade Farewell Program – which is usually held on an evening towards the end of the school year, was brought up for discussion by the 5th grade teachers, that they would prefer for the rewards to be handed out in the classrooms, versus the farewell event, to prevent kids who do not receive any awards from feeling left out in front of family and others (kids have expressed hurt feelings). The awards that are usually handed out that night would instead by handed out in the classroom along with the other classroom awards that the teachers give out. A motion was made to forego the event this year by Robin and 2nd by Bethany & Andrea. Motion carried and passed. - Announcements:
~100th Day of School Event on February 4th. “Dress like you’re 100 years old”.
~February 5th – Family Movie Night – 7:00 pm.
~No School – February 15th & 16th (President’s Day & an extra day).
~March 3rd – Book Fair Set-up.

- Treasurer’s report was made by Julie Koppelman. An overview of monthly income and expenses was made, and a review of the proposed budget for 2015-2016 was discussed. Motion to accept the treasurer’s report was made by Laura and 2nd by Tawnya.
- President’s Report - was given by Tracy Boehm. The results of the blood drive were discussed. Discussion was made regarding expanding the blookd drive to 2 days next year to cover all the interested participants.
- The school Principal’s Report was made by Lynn Bormann. Lego and computer clubs starting this month. Additional Spring Art Club for grades 1-5 discussed. Robotic club for just 5th grade in May also discussed.
- Committee Reports were made –
~The Box Tops Committee – Amber & Mandy. There will be another box tops challenge in February. Campbell’s Labels have made 13,271 points. Coke awards are also are doing well.
~American Education Week, Jen, Andrea & Gina – baked goods and treats were provided..
~Restaurant Fundraisers – Robin. TGIFridays hosted a Dine in event on November 15th , donating a total of $85. Ole and Lena’s also hosted a fundraiser event, on December 13th, donating a total of $175. More restaurant fundraiser events are being planned.
~Movie Night – Michelle. Will be Friday, February 5th @ 7:00pm. Movie will be the Minions. License was $172. Volunteer helpers are needed.
~End of the Year Inflatables – Michelle. 5-inflatable games have been booked for a fee of $1,200. A vote to increase the inflatables budget from $500 to $1,200 was made. Motion to carry made by Amber and 2nd by Mrs. Bjornson. - Special Guest – Play Director, Carina Gonzalez-Dumarce. Carina wrote the play this year, saving the school $ for play rights. Kyler Rayhill will be the assistant director. Drama club created for grades 3-5. Auditions will be March 21 & 22. Drama club will meet Mon., Tues., Thurs., and Fri. from March 21-April 29 from 2:45-5:00 pm. School play will be April 29th @ 7:00 pm and during the school day. Still working on obtaining a sound system.
- New Business – Looking for a Chairperson for a School Dance Committee for a school dance maybe in April. More to be discussed at next meeting.
~A possible Vendor Show for either this Spring or next year also discussed with a fee of $20 per vendor table. More to be discussed pending a Chairperson and volunteers. - Announcements:

1) Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by PTO Board President, Tracy Boehm.
Welcome and Introductions were made.
2) Motion to approve the minutes, taken by Laura Hjelseth from the last PTO Meeting, on October 6, 2015, was made by Jolien and 2nd by Andrea.
3) Treasurer’s report was made by Julie Koppelman. An overview of monthly income and expenses was made, showing an ending checkbook balance of $13,014.07. A review of the proposed budget for 2015-2016 was discussed, with emphasis being made to fully fund the 4th grade field trip, by using funds set aside for teacher gift cards, and will assist teachers at end of school year instead if funds allow. Also, PTO will discuss ways of further fully funding the End of the Year Inflatables (Possible Sock Hop Dance Event) , and providing the first $1,000 towards the 5th grade field trip, with the students working towards the remainder along with a certain amount of fees being paid by the parents per student. It was discussed that a Drama Club would be formed in order to pay for the School Play, and to charge a nominal fee to attend the play, in order to pay for Sound Amplification Wireless Mics, that could also be used by the whole school. Mini Grants and other community donations are also being looked at to pay for the mics. Motion to accept the treasurer’s report and the newly revised budget was made by Matt and 2nd by Robin.

She thanked the 3rd grade teachers for attending the meeting, and the PTO for participating & helping with the conference meals and the book fair, and for organizing & distributing Fundraiser orders. The school had 97.4% parent attendance for the Parent/Teacher Conferences. After School Clubs have started. Grades 4-5 will be having Art & Lego Clubs; while Grades 1-3 will be having Spanish & Computer Clubs. There will be 7 sessions of each Club from 2:45 – 3:45pm; at a cost of $20 for each Club registration. Upcoming Events include:. No School November 11th (Veteran’s Day); November 16-20 (American Education Week); and November 17th (Special Bond Voting – Aurora will be a voting site).
6) Committee Reports were made –
~Fundraiser Committee: Julie Koppelman, Recapped the final numbers with a profit of $10,453.76 from the Great American Fundraiser. Ideas for future fundraisers are to be researched and presented to Julie for discussion at the next PTO Meeting. Next Year’s Fundraiser will be decided at the next Meeting.
~Spiritwear Committee: - Michelle. Winter orders are now available until and due November 15th. There is a link in the school newsletter to make an on-line order.
~The Box Tops Committee – Amber & Mandy. $1,270 has been made from most recent box top contest. Mrs. Hardwick’s 3rd grade class won and was awarded an in classroom special event. Look for future box tops challenges. Remember last year for Target Card rewards. Keep collecting Campbell’s labels and other rewards that are listed in the newsletter.
~The Fall Book Fair Committee Chair, Laura Hjelseth, discussed that the Book Fair was successful with Total Sales of $6,724.82; and earned Scholastic Dollars of $3,302.25 for the School. A good portion of the scholastic dollars has already been spent on books for students, teacher’s classrooms and the library.
~The Flu Shot., was sponsored by the 7-Day Clinic, on October 21st from 3:00 to 6:00pm. The event was successful with 150 vaccines given that day.
~American Education Week, Jen, Andrea & Gina – Due to money for teachers gift cards being reallocated to the 4th grade field trip, a budgeted amount of $100 will be spent on treats for the teachers this week. Parents are encourage to purchase gift cards for the child(ren)’s teachers. A survey of each staff member’s favorites will be conducted and then will be shared with parents in the Newsletter for both Christmas time and Teacher Appreciation weeks.
~Restaurant Fundraisers – Robin. TGIFridays will be hosting a Dine in event on November 15th all day by presenting their fundraiser flyer to your server, and then they in turn will donate 20% of your check to Aurora PTO. Ole and Lena’s will be also hosting an upcoming fundraiser event, on December 13th, that will be both dine-in, carry-out and delivery at a 15% donation of your check.
7) VOICE Representative – Valerie Fiske from the West Fargo Voice Group was in attendance at the PTO meeting to discuss the details of upcoming School Bond Referendum. Valerie fielded and responded to several questions from those in attendance.

- An overview of monthly income and expenses was made, showing an ending balance of $1,573.06, as of 10/01/2015. Motion was made by Jolien to approve and 2nd by Tanya.
- Gina Dahl was introduced as being nominated as the new vice-president/elect for this year’s PTO board. Maidie made a motion to approve and Robin 2nd. All in attendance were in agreement.
- Schools Alive event was discussed. It was a successful event, but participation numbers were down this year, and discussed maybe hosting the event every other instead in the future.
- Those who volunteer in the classrooms or on field trips will need to have a one-time background check completed, that is good for all the years that you have children in attendance in the school district. Forms can be be obtained in the school office.
- The PTO Board will be meeting before the next meeting to discuss the upcoming Budget for the year, since the Fundraiser income was down this year from last year.
- She thanked the 2nd grade teachers for attending the meeting, and the PTO for participating & helping organize volunteers for the Schools Alive event.
- October is Fire Prevention month with the theme “Hear the Beep When You Sleep”. Visits to be made by the Fire Station to Grades 1, 2 & 3 classrooms.
- After School Clubs will be starting late October. Grades 4-5 will be having Art & Lego Clubs; while Grades 1-3 will be having Spanish & Computer Clubs. There will be 7 sessions of each Club from 2:45 – 3:45pm; at a cost of $20 for each Club registration.
- Upcoming Events include:
- Parent-Teacher Conferences & Book Fair on October 19-20.

- Fundraiser Committee: Julie Koppelman, Recapped the final numbers with an estimated profit of $10,000 from the Great American Fundraiser. Date for delivery of ordered items will be October 28 from 3-7pm in the commons area.
- Spiritwear Committee: recapped, along with Fall orders should have been received. Discussed having a Winter order with warmer clothing options – those in attendance seemed interested in this idea.
- The Box Tops Committee - discussed the first box tops school challenge, which was in the newsletter, and purchase a dozen playground balls from the Campbell Labels. It was also discussed for a $50 budget for the box top committee for this year; a traveling trophy was discussed as a possibility. Andrea made a motion to approve the budget, and Maidie 2nd. Approved.
- The Fall Book Fair Committee Chair, Laura Hjelseth, discussed the upcoming Scholastic Book Fair Event that will be held during Parent-Teacher Conferences on October 19th & 20th. The theme this year is a Monsters Theme, and will be needing volunteers to help run the fair. An on-line sign up for volunteers has been created on signup genius with a link in the newsletter. 5th grade All-star leaders will be available to volunteer to help out at the book fair also.
- Fall Conference Meals, Tracy discussed that on Monday the 19th a picnic meal of pulled pork and chicken will be served along with Village Inn pies. On Tuesday the 20th a baked potato bar along with apple crisp will be served.
- The Flu Shot., Allison & Shanda, discussed the upcoming Flu Shot Clinic, which will be sponsored by the 7-Day Clinic, on October 21st from 3:00 to 6:00pm. There will be a signup and registration on-line.
- American Education Week, Andrea, gifts for teachers were discussed along with treats for the certified staff. Total cost for gift certificates for certified staff came to $1,050. Motion to approve was made by Julie, and 2nd by Matt. Approved.
8) New Business -
- After School Clubs: registration deadline is October 14. Discussed covering the registration fees of the child(ren) of Teachers who are instructing the clubs. Gina made a motion to approve and Annie 2nd.Approved.
- Restaurant of the Month Fundraisers were discussed by Robin. Those restaurants that were interested in participating include Granite City, TGIF’s, and Ole & Lenas. 10-20% profits back to Aurora from those families eating at the restaurants during a specific day or week each month. More discussion to come at next meeting.

- Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by PTO Board President, Tracy Boehm. Welcome and Introductions were made.
Mrs. Bormann, our new Principal, was introduced. - Motion to amend the minutes from the last PTO Meeting, on June 2, 2015, was made in order to approve Tracy Boehm as new PTO Board President. Michelle Angus made the 1st motion, and Jill Boehme, 2nd the motion. Unanimous vote to make Tracy our new Board President. A new Vice-President/President Elect member is also still being needed, since Chuck Schwan stepped down, and will be addressed at the next PTO meeting.
- The President’s report was made, and discussed the School’s Alive event which will be held on October 1st from 5-7pm. Laine Richard was in attendance and discussed the event. Some PTO volunteers will be needed for the event. August registration and Back to School night were discussed.
An introduction of the new PTO Meeting child care provider was made. Her name is Ashley Swart, who is an elementary Education student at MSUM. - Treasurer’s report was made by Julie Koppelman. An overview of last year’s budget was made. August expenses, and Teacher & building requests were granted. The monthly report was made showing an ending balance of $2,861.50, as of 08/31/2015. Upcoming expenses were also discussed.
- The school Principal’s Report was made by Lynn Bormann. At the time of meeting we were at 471 students at Aurora, with 6-sections of grade 1. Mrs. Bormann discussed full benchmark testing, and academic goals. Names are announced of All Star Students each week. Aurora has 14 new staff members. 52 Principal chats have been made staff, and the building climate goals were discussed.
- Committee Reports were made –~Fundraiser Committee Chair, Julie Koppelman, gave general information and discussed the kickoff of the fundraiser which will begin on September 17th.
~Spiritwear Committee Chair, Michelle Johnson, Recapped about the new clothing options, the flyer, how to order online, and the deadline for ordering which will be September 15th.
~School supplies Chair, Tawnya Follingstad, Recapped how everything went, and it was discussed using the schooltoolbox.com ordering website again next year.
~The Box Tops Committee Chairpersons, Amber & Mandy, discussed the box tops and other different programs for earning dollars for the School. The first box tops school challenge was also discussed along with prizes for winners.
