Climb Theatre - Booster Bitscame to the school. Danelle said they were very good with the kids and was very impressed. Was even better than anticipated. There was great control over the children and it kept their attention. Paul felt that maybe it would be beneficial to focus more on the 3rd-5th grade age group play rather than the kindergarten-2nd grade play. Parents expressed that their children did talk about it and enjoyed it.
School Supplies 2012
Forms will be sent out to all Aurora, Osgood and future Freedom students and we’ll probably be filling bags in July. Leslie will be coordinating school supplies for both Aurora and Freedom.
Fundraiser 2012
We will hear our choices and vote on them at the May meeting

There is a conflict for one of the committee members, so Jessica said she will step in and help. We’ll try for a Wednesday or Thursday.
New Business
Elections for 2012 Officers will be held at the May meeting. Looking for nominations/volunteers!
The Aurora clothing is in and will hopefully be going out to teachers by Thursday. The total of all Blue 84 sales was $2762.00 and we get 10% of that minus the cost of samples. Thanks for all your hard work Jessica!
The new school could also use Blue 84 to order school attire, so Jessica will pass the contact info onto a future Freedom PTO’er.
Teacher appreciation - May 7th-A doodle poll will be sent out asking for volunteers based on what is decided for the occasion. Considering doing a breakfast or a dessert day
Yearbook Is being worked on and seems to be going well.

Aurora PTO Meeting Minutes - January 2012
Introductions
Attendees shared their name and their New Year's Resolutions
Approval of November Minutes
1st - Jessica Kliem, 2nd - Chris Ault
Presidents report - Paul Bourdeaux
Boundaries committee - Sounds like everyone south of I-94 and East of the Sheyenne River will be going to the new school. It will be named Freedom Elementary School. Talked about the new school's PTO and ways they'll obtain starting funds such as starting their year off with a fundraiser. Sometimes another school will give them some starting money, but not sure whether we'll be able to do that next year.
Treasure’s report - Chris Ault
Balance as of Oct 8-just over $25,000
Expenses were just over $15,195 (Paid Club’s choice-$14350, $500 box tops money to Minot schools)
Balance as of today: $10952
Committee Reports
Book Fair
Shannon Jantzi: Book fair is coming up Feb 16th and 21st. Delivery will be the 9th or 10th. Setup will be after school on Friday or Monday. Discussed getting the conference times early so people can sign up to help with the fair.
Conference Meals
Joan Windus: Also coming up in February. Old Chicago is doing one day and then Joan’s thinking potluck for the other day
Principal's Report - Carol Zent
Carol wasn’t able to be here due to an accident. You were missed and we hope you heal quickly Carol!
Old business
CLIMB Theater
We need to decide how we want to split kids if we are going this way. Another program is Feats of strength (around $1,000) We’ll aim for late March or early April. Everyone agreed that Booster Bits instead of the full program would probably be better because of the amount of money that will be spent on this bully prevention program. Danelle will talk to other PTO members in other schools about participating so that other schools along with us can get reduced pricing.
T-Shirts
Jessica spoke about t-shirts to a Detroit Lakes company called Blue 84 spirit (http://blue84spirit.com/). They are big into the website sales, but can possibly send samples and then you order online after seeing the physical item. Jessica will contact them about samples in time for conferences.
School Play
We've decided to cut it this year as there was no interest for volunteering to do this project.
Nurtured Hearts
8 parents participated. The last class is this Thursday. Then there are refreshers in February and March. Some of the PTO members are attending and said it really is a wonderful program.
